CITY SLAYER There is simply no better material better suited for the rigors of urban riding than steel. Unlike aluminum, steel naturally damps or absorbs the shocks and vibrations of city streets. Aluminum simply transmits it, like a tuning fork, which is why aluminum frames are often criticized for their "harsh" riding qualities. Besides, on a fixie, where vintage reigns, skinny steel frame tubes are just right.

ALLOY MAINFRAME We used lightweight and corrosion-resistant 6061 aluminum for the mainframe of our Taxi Trike, while many others use heavier steel frames. By utilizing aluminum tubing, we can shape the tubes to feature a low step-thru for easy access without having a gusset that hinders access. SEMI-INTEGRATED HEADSET The semi-integrated headset bearings sit inside the head tube with no external cups to expose, while the top cone features an additional rubber 5 seal to keep out the elements. CRUISER PLATFORM PEDALS WITH GRIP TAPE AND RUSTLESS BUSHINGS The wide and flat surface of our Cruiser pedals are ideal for riding in flip flops, with grip tape in the center for extra control. The bushings are a big deal for durability. The ball bearings in regular pedals oxidize and degrade FAST in a coastal environment—from salt-water contamination or from rides in inclement weather. ALLOY 3 PIECE CRANKS + SEALED CARTRIDGE BB Most tricycles use "old school" steel 1-piece cranks with caged or loose ball bottom brackets, but not our Taxi Trike! The Taxi trike uses alloy crank arms for superior corrosion resistance and a sealed cartridge bottom bracket for enhanced durability and lower maintenance. FRONT AND REAR BRAKES Trikes are heavier than traditional bicycles, and handle completely differently so stopping power is a must. Unlike many trikes on the market, the Taxi trike has both front AND rear brakes for the right amount of modulation and power. The front brake is also equipped with "parking brake" functionality for when you arrive at your destination. CHEEKS CRUISER MEMORY FOAM SADDLE Our new CHEEKS Cruiser saddle with memory foam is first in class for comfort on a trike. A wide base, thick memory foam padding, and elastomer springs make riding our Taxi Trike feel like settling into your favorite armchair. WIDE TIRES W/ REFLECTIVE SIDEWALL The Taxi Trike has 24" x 2" wide tires for better stability and impact absorption. All 3 tires have reflective stripping on the tire to improve visibility in low light situations for extra safety.

OWNING CITY STREETS FOR 30 YEARS Our Codas have been some of our most popular bikes for decades, and for good reason. There's the smooth-riding Reynolds chromoly frames, the well-thought-out geometry, the heads-up riding position and the smart component selections, from the super-wide gearing range to the easy-adjust stems: these bikes are simply some of the best and most versatile around. THE BUTTERY RIDE OF QUALITY STEEL We're famous for our steel bikes and the Codas have a lot to do with that. No frame material makes more sense on beat-up city streets than steel. Why? Hit a baseball with a wooden bat and then hit one with an aluminum bat and you'll know why. You want your frame material to soak up those streets, not beat you with them. And we use only the best: Reynolds cold-worked, double-butted chrome-moly steel.

Cross-Check is a tough-as-nails, super-versatile road bike that performs astonishingly well on any surface. There is no such thing as one bike that can do it all, but Cross-Check comes pretty damn close. It's a dyed-in-the-wool commuter and utility rig. It was a gravel crusher long before "gravel bikes" existed. Some people have even raced cyclocross on it. Though, we don't necessarily condone that behavior. Cross-Check was the first complete bike we ever offered. Since then, people have modified them hundreds of different ways to suit their riding styles and preferences. There’s a reason that nearly every person who has ever worked for Surly has owned one. - Semi-horizontal dropouts for singlespeed compatibility and wheelbase adjustability - Gnot-Rite dropout spacing allows installation of 130 or 135mm hubs - Accommodations for front and rear racks and fenders - Clearance for 700 x 42mm tires with or without fenders

There is no such thing as one bike that can do it all, but the Cross-Check comes mighty close. It's a cyclocross bike by design, but don’t be fooled into thinking that it has only one purpose. This jack-of-all-trades will do just as well getting you across the country as it does getting you across town. At home on the road, on trails, and on gravel, the Cross-Check'll fit pretty big tires, or smaller ones if you like. It can be built as a geared bike, a singlespeed, or a fixed-gear. The Cross-Check’s frame is engineered to supply a comfortable but lively ride. The tubing is CroMoly steel, high quality, custom-drawn, and built to our specifications. It's designed to work with components of popular sizes, meaning you can find both new and old parts to hang on this frame. It will accommodate a wide range of crank types and chainring sizes. It's got accommodations for racks and fenders (front and rear) and, because of its ample tire clearance, you can outfit it to suit where and how you will use it. There's a reason the Cross-Check has remained popular after all these years. The frame is comfy, tough as nails, and super versatile. Surly continues to hear from people for whom the Cross-Check has long been their go-to bike simply because it performs so astonishingly well on any surface.

With over 20 fork and frame mounts you can now choose to mount fenders, rear carrier, low-rider front carrier (or two cages for water bottles/storage) and three front triangle water bottles. ADVENTURE FRAME DESIGN Starting with a wide and consistent stack and reach range, we set out to design a frame that could handle on or off road conditions while maintaining a comfortable and consistent ride. As you start to review the geo chart you will notice we have 3 different fork offsets, BB drops and rear center measurements depending on frame size. This is unique. We set out to ensure every Renegade rider will experience the ultimate in adventure bike performance regardless of their frame size. Most of our competitors simply design one fork and strap it to every frame size. While this may work just fine for a bicycle that's designed to be ridden with a single tire size (think a road racing bike), it significantly impacts the handling and ride quality of an adventure bike when swapping out your 28's for 32s, 40s or even 47mm tires. Add size specific tubing, where we vary the diameter of the frame tubing depending on frame size and 2 different sized rear triangles and you have what we feel is the perfect adventure geometry for all sized riders and the best riding adventure bike period. Steel Commuter and Gravel Bike Preamble is a hard-boiled steel commuter built for comfort, durability, and buffoonery on pavement and gravel. Nothing More is Needed. Nothing Less Will Do. The challenge was thus: Build a serious steel bike and give it only the attributes that matter most. Make it quick and comfortable on pavement, as well as confident and compliant on degraded surfaces. What the Enginerds put forth is Preamble, a pavement and gravel utility worker that proves you don't need to cut corners or clip coupons to make a more affordable steel bike. You just need to keep shit simple. Preamble can run racks and fenders and carry a couple water bottles. Surly was raised on stealing basic cable, after all. Smooth and efficient on asphalt, Preamble's double-butted main triangle provides a resplendent ride feel and withstands abuse from life's inevitable potholes. Make it your own with flat bars, drop bars, a basket, or bags. On the road to steel euphoria, Preamble is the gateway drug. Let facts be submitted to a candid world: - Offered in flat-bar and drop-bar configurations - Easy T-Shirt sizing to fit nearly every rider (XS, S, M, L, XL) - Sloping top tubes on XS and Small frames for improved standover and comfort - To offer the best rider experience for every frame size, XS and S frames get 650b wheelsets while M–XL get 700c - Custom-cast single-position vertical dropout

Truly at home on the road, it features updated geo and modern component compatibility, along with versatile mounting options that make it ideal for daily commutes and months-long disappearing acts alike. Built from Surly’s proprietary, touring-compliant 'Natch tubesets, updates to the Disc Trucker include a shortened seat tube and slightly sloped top tube for better stand-over clearance, plus an increased stack height for a more relaxed riding position. Shortened chainstays offer improved stiffness and maneuverability around corners, while 12mm thru-axles provide a stiffer feel and greater stability when fully loaded. To ensure the Disc Trucker continues to exceed expectations in terms of compatibility with modern product standards, its dropouts have been redesigned to accommodate flat-mount disc brakes and captured thru-axles. An updated fork incorporates dynamo routing and three-pack mounts for even more mounting options. - 100% Chromoly steel frame and fork; double-butted main triangle and E.D. coating for increased frame life - Braze-ons for fenders, racks, and almost anything else you might want to stick on your bike, plus spare spoke holders for when the road gets rough - Fork blade three-pack mounts for even more mounting options, plus routing for Dynamo hubs - Redesigned front and rear dropouts to accommodate captured 12mm thru-axles and flat-mount disc brakes - Clearance for 26 x 2.1" tires with or without fenders
