COVID-19 Actions and Preparations

Updated June 3, 2021

Dear Hub Customers,
Due to public health concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have modified our operations.

During All Shop Visits

-As of this time, it is not required that customers or staff who are fully vaccinated (14 days after 2nd dose of Moderna/Pfizer or single J&J dose) wear a maskWe continue to encourage everybody to wear a mask while at our stores, as we keep in mind that members of our community remain vulnerable to COVID-19. Masks are still required for those who have not yet been fully vaccinated (including children 2-12), and strongly recommended for folx who are immuno-compromised or at risk of serious complications from COVID-19, or have such people in their households. Complimentary masks are available for those who did not bring their own.
-If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you stay home, reach out to us by phone or email, and use our online store for your shopping. We remain committed to serving everyone according to their needs. You can browse our entire inventory and more in our online store, and we continue to offer curbside pickup during store hours for online orders and service drop-off/pickup.
- We are enforcing a store capacity of up to 10 customers at a time, which sometimes requires a customer queue outside the shop until we have staff available to work with you.
- Each test ride customer may bring a +1 into the store if needed. We ask that minors be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Respect a 6-foot distance away from people, including while standing in line outside. We have markings on our sidewalks and on our shop floors to help with this.
- In order to keep the shop and merchandise safe for our staff and customers, please remain in the areas designated for customers.

While the state and federal governments have recognized that bike shops are essential to our transportation infrastructure and may stay open, we're grateful and remain cautious. The safety of our staff and community is a priority for us, and we understand that some people are reliant on their bicycles during this crisis. If you exhibit any signs of sickness please stay at home. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not respect our safety guidelines.

Repair Services

Bicycle repairs* are active at both Hub locations:
- Longfellow (3016 Minnehaha Ave) location is scheduling tune-ups 3-4 weeks after we check-in the bike.
- University Bike Center (401 SE Oak St) location typically has a 2 week turn-around time for tune-ups and other repairs.
No appointment required to bring your bike in for repair estimate...just come into our shop!

Repair Services Menu

*We cannot schedule any repairs without first having your bike in our shop. As the busy summer season picks up, please be prepared to wait few weeks from the day you bring your bike in for us to begin work on your bike. We realize that this timeline may not work for everyone and apologize for this inconvenience. We are doing our best to keep up with on-the-spot flat tire fixes, and some quick adjustments while you wait.

Online Store

Our web store remains open 24/7:  SHOP NOW
Curbside pick-up is available daily from our 3016 Minnehaha Ave shop.

Classes & Events

Classes at The Hub are back in action! We have created a designated education space and are facilitating classes inside our 3020 Minnehaha Ave storefront, thanks in part to our community's support!
Registration links for each course can be found (along with course descriptions) in our web store.
We will be practicing safety protocols for all events and classes, including:
- Masks that cover both nose & mouth are required by all.
- Social distancing of at least 6' with some physical barriers.
- Disinfection of all surfaces before & after events; limited sharing of tools and other supplies.
- Nitrile gloves available for attendees.

Grease Rag Open Shop is active again on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays, 6pm-8pm at our 3020 Minnehaha Ave shop, and can accommodate up to 5 participants at a time.

Group Rides and Social Seminars have all been postponed, as we do not feel it is socially responsible to host in-person gatherings for now, but we hope to ride with you again soon!
