The Hub is currently planning weekly group rides with both The Hub Cycling Team and Corpse Whale Racing!
Beginning in May, we'll have a couple of rides happening each week (weather-permitting) to keep your spirits and cadence riding high!
Thursday Open Road Rides with The Hub Cycling Team
The Hub Cycling Team is excited to host another season of bi-weekly Thursday group rides! The series will start May 16th, and all rides will leave at 6:30 PM from The Hub's West Bank location at 301 Cedar Ave.
Each week we'll offer both a shorter and a longer route, and will follow the same consistent route for the entire ride series:
The short route will be about 18.5 miles, and will maintain a 12 - 14mph moving average.
The longer route will be about 27.5 miles and will maintain a 16 - 18mph moving average.
Both routes will stop at Bang! Brewing (one of the team's other sponsors) shortly before returning to the West Bank.
These rides will be no-drop, and depending on attendance rides may be split into multiple pace groups. We're looking forward to riding with you this season!
Mountain Bike Rides
The Hub Bike Co-op will again be hosting weekly Wednesday Night Femme, Trans, & Women (FTW) Mountain Bike Rides in Summer 2019! This ride is open to all FTWs, two-spirit, non-binary, and gender non-conforming folks.
The ride starts from the trailhead at 6:30pm (trail location changes venues each week), and riders should expect to ride 1.5-2 hours. We'll use this closed private forum* to communicate venue, weather, answer questions, etc.
Are you new to mountain biking? This ride is beginner friendly! Don't have a mountain bike? The Hub will be offering up its demo fleet for FREE to folx attending the the week's ride!
If you need a bike to ride, or a lift to the trailhead, please use the forum, call or stop into our Minnehaha shop at 612-729-0437, or email our Demo Steward, Lisa (lisao [at] thehubbikecoop [dot] biz), in advance. We have limited Demo Bikes available and limited space for transportation, so please pre-arrange. Please arrive at The Hub at 3016 Minnehaha by 5pm to get set up on the Demo Bike, as we'll be leaving the shop at 6pm sharp to get to the trailhead on time (we've learned that it takes time for the paperwork, swapping pedals, setting up suspension and saddle height, loading the vehicles...).
It might get dark during the ride, so please bring a bright front light and a taillight. If you don't have these, The Hub may have some available to use for the night, and will definitely have them for sale.
